The University Club Newcomer's Division

During the first two years of your University Club membership, you are automatically enrolled in Newcomers. This is for ALL new members, not just those who are new to the area.

Our meetings are designed to help you meet new friends while participating in a variety of fun activities and/or educational programs.

Fall, Winter, and Spring meetings are held at the Hill's Bank North Liberty location on Forevergreen Road, unless otherwise announced. We meet in the second floor meeting room.

Summer meetings (June, July, August) are held at City Park (Iowa City). 

Watch for a Newcomers email the second week of each month containing program details for the upcoming meeting.

UC Newcomers are welcome and encouraged to attend all of the various University Club activities and interest groups.

Newcomer's meets monthly on the 3rd Thursday from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM 

Upcoming Meeting Themes:

In honor of the 250th birthday of the United States, we will do some U.S. History trivia for a few minutes every month when we meet.

September 17, 2026: University Club Overview: President Jan Frerichs and other members of the UClub Executive Board will be present to share an overview of UClub and its large array of opportunities. Bring your questions!

October 15, 2026: Tailgate Party and school sports trivia! Wear your favorite team colors and bring your favorite tailgate snack to share.

November 19, 2026: Safety Issues. Coralville Police officer Anthony Dettweiler will discuss general safety and self defense tips for women.
